AbstractAs a carbon-free fuel and easier to store and transport than hydrogen, ammonia can be used as a hydrogen carrier. Due to the high ignition energy and the lower reactivity, ammonia is considered to co-combusted with other hydrocarbon fuels, which may improve the ignition and burnout of ammonia. In this paper, the experiments that the burnout of mixture gases NH3/CO are carried out in the entrained flow reactor to study the oxidation of ammonia and NO formation in post-combustion zone. And the NO and CO emission with various temperatures (1023-1223 K) and NH3 concentrations (250-1500 ppm) are analyzed. As the temperature increases, NO and CO emission decreases. As the concentration of NH3 increases, NO and CO emission increases. The reaction of NH3/CO is calculated by CHEMKIM code. The chemical mechanism is used to explain the experimental results. © Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion, ASPACC 2019.All right reserved.
