Load-bearing advantage space of pyramid lattice sandwich cylinder under the constraints of multi-failure modes based on thin-shell assumptions

摘要Pyramid lattice sandwich cylinders (LSCs) exhibit remarkable structural efficiency, yet local failures can significantly reduce their load-bearing capacity. This study investigates the load-bearing capability of pyramid LSCs relative to single-walled shells (SSs) of equivalent size and mass under multi-failure modes. A multi-failure analytical model grounded in thin-shell assumptions has been developed to analyze the separate contributions of the lattice core and skins. Through optimization, the variation in the performance of pyramid LSCs and SSs has been elucidated. The findings indicate that the load-bearing capacity of pyramid LSCs is approximately 1.65 times greater than that of SSs.
